TUI fly Belgium makes its first flight to Havana
TUI fly Belgium today inaugurated its Brussels-Havana link, in addition to the airline’s planned return to the Cuban seaside resort of Varadero.
Before passengers boarded the plane at 7:00 a.m., a simple ceremony took place at Brussels Airport which included the traditional ribbon cutting and an allegorical Caribbean island cake.
In her intervention, the Cuban Ambassador to Belgium, Yaira JimÃ©nez, thanked the travelers for choosing the largest of the Antilles as their destination and underlined the safety and quality of service on site.
“You will arrive in a country that has successfully managed the Covid-19 pandemic, despite the difficulties, and with a population almost completely immune with our own vaccines, the protocols of which we make available to all.“, she commented.
The diplomat said Cuba has one hundred percent certified tourist facilities and has characteristics that make it a different destination.
“In addition to nature, culture and history, they will find the human warmth of a people with a lot of preparation, intelligence and hospitalityÂ», She added during the event, also in the presence of LÃ©on Verhallen, director of aviation development at Brussels airport, and the director of TUI fly Belgium, Erik Follet.
The airline will serve Havana on a weekly basis, as well as Varadero, but plans to increase its operations to the Cuban capital to two weekly flights.
