TUI adds more Easter flights for beach breaks in Mexico, Dominican Republic and Turkey
The UK’s largest tour operator, TUI, has expanded its Easter schedule to include more than 870 flights to 35 holiday destinations.
It announced additional flights to Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Turkey from Manchester and London Gatwick in April to meet renewed travel demand.
The capacity of resorts in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Turkey has been increased for the popular holiday period.
TUI will now operate 17 flights a week to its main long-haul sun destination, Cancun, Mexico, adding an additional weekly flight from London Gatwick from April 6 and Manchester from April 3.
The second most popular long-haul location is the Dominican Republic and TUI has added an additional weekly flight from Manchester to Punta Cana from April 3, bringing its total of weekly flights to eight over Easter and summer.
Turkey’s rise as one of the most popular short-haul sun destinations continues and to meet demand two additional weekly flights will link Manchester with Antalya in April, bringing the flight schedule to 13 flights weekly at Easter. This will increase further with 22 weekly flights in May and 47 in June.
Richard Sofer, Director of Business and Business Development at TUI, said: “ We are seeing a strong demand for family packages over Easter. There has been a general uptick for long haul throughout the year and Easter bookings for Mexico and the Dominican Republic have returned to pre-Covid levels.
“Destinations closer to home are also looking positive, as entry is easier for teenagers and some high-value offers, particularly in Turkey, are releasing pent-up demand.”
