BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Orlando International Airport is undergoing a major $72 million terminal renovation and expansion project to prepare for its new airline, United Kingdom’s TUI United.

The project adds 86,000 square feet of new facilities to the terminal along with the renovation of existing areas and TUI is expected to attract 150,000 new international visitors to the Space Coast this year alone, with plans for growth.

This means a new security checkpoint, a new departure area with new gates and concessions, a new VIP lounge and much more.

“As part of the project, we are looking for one or two partners to install children’s play areas in the new departure area as well as the new VIP lounge,” said Rob Himler, director of marketing and communications.

“These will be strategically located in the new lobby near the main doors of TUI and in the VIP lounge which all TUI first class customers will have access to. We hope to move quickly on a partnership and have something in place by mid-March.
