Lufthansa Technik is working on the new Bizliner cabin concept

Visitors to the Monaco Yacht Show 2021 from September 22 to 25 were able to experience the Lufthansa Technik (LHT) ‘pioneering’ cabin design study for bizliners called the ‘Explorer’, which is based on the current trend of superyachts from the same. name. For the study, LHT’s VIP business chose an ACJ330 as a platform because it offers enough space for several new cabin ideas.

LHT officials noted that only a few cabin concepts using the A330 cabin have been introduced to the market, and therefore said its study should generate interest from customers. The German company incorporated a wide range of possible uses in the development of the cabin floor concept in addition to the typical elements of a bizliner, such as bedrooms and guest rooms, bathrooms, offices and catering and conference spaces. One demonstrated use was a projection system covering large sections of cabin walls and ceilings with a representation of an underwater environment.

“Over the past few months we have intensively analyzed the visual context and typical elements of the Explorer class of boats to transfer the design idea behind it from the water to the air, and thus into a new design. cabin, ”said Jan Grube, Sales Manager for LHT’s VIP Aircraft and Special Mission Services Division. “The interior elements, which also incorporate completely new functions, are therefore intentionally kept multifunctional. “

Wieland Timm, divisional sales manager, added that the end goal is to develop “the Explorer design for a whole new target group”. With the new design, LHT hopes to meet the requirements of 10 to 16 VIP passengers in a way that provides them with a “maximum positive passenger experience”. The cabin concept is still being finalized and LHT plans to present a completed design study – along with other “surprises” – at the Dubai Airshow in November.
