Lufthansa offers more than 50 additional flights to and from Frankfurt and Munich due to high travel demand during the Easter holidays

The easing of travel restrictions across Europe is giving Lufthansa a noticeable boost in booking demand for the Easter holiday. Last week was the most successful booking week for the airline in the past two years, with a fourfold increase in new bookings compared to the same week in 2021.

To meet the high demand, especially from “sun-seekers”, Lufthansa is now offering more than 50 additional flights to and from Frankfurt as well as Munich at short notice or in the run-up to the Easter holidays. From Frankfurt, holidaymakers can expect more than 30 more flights south over the Easter holidays. Five additional connections from Frankfurt to Palma de Mallorca (Spain), five routes to Faro (Portugal), three connections to Funchal on Madeira (Portugal) and two connections to Larnaca (Cyprus) are now also on the flight schedule.

More than 20 additional flights will be operated from Munich, transporting guests to Europe’s most beautiful holiday regions. The following connections of Munich will be added to the already expanded flight schedule: twice for Faro (Portugal), twice for Heraklion (Greece), twice each for Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerifeand a connection to Palma de Mallorca (all of Spain).

The most popular countries for Lufthansa customer travel for the Easter holidays as well as the upcoming summer are Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece and Cyprus. Of particular note is the return of city breaks. Barcelona, ​​London, Rome, Oslo and Athens are particularly in demand for city trips in spring and summer. The number of connections to these cities and many other cities doubled compared to the previous year.
