How to get free plants and flowers at B&Q for Easter 2022

A social media hoax has resurfaced suggesting shoppers can get free plants and flowers at B&Q Recirculates stores after it first surfaced in 2019.

The hoax says the hypermarket offers free plants and flowers over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, but that’s not true.

The store sometimes holds plant giveaways on excess inventory in late spring, including a popular tomato plant giveaway in 2017. However, this usually varies from store to store and free plants are currently only available. not available to buyers in 2022.

B&Q is offering a 20% plant and flower sale off the B&Q website with discounts on bedding plants ranging from pansies to violas. There are also bedding plants from just £3.50 in the clearance section. Other discounts include three evergreen shrubs for £15, four herbaceous perennials for £11 and assorted culinary herbs for £11.

However, an online deal site has stepped in to make sure there’s a way to get your hands on some plants for free with cash back.

Deals website Topcashback is offering all new members £10 off a DIY store, including B&Q. Simply register here and spend at least £10 and you’ll receive £10 back on the site.

The sign-up bonus is available for new members of the cashback site. The deal works on anything on the B&Q website, so if you don’t need plants, you can also use it for DIY supplies.

B&Q also revealed its opening hours for the Easter bank holidays. Stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. They will be closed on Easter Sunday and will reopen at 7am on Bank Holiday Monday. You can check your local store here.
