Jet2 has made the decision to postpone its flight and vacation schedule, with the exception of flights to Jersey, until July 1.

The Leeds-based carrier had initially hoped to resume vacation from June 24, but bosses said there just wasn’t “enough certainty”.

In an updated statement on its website, Jet2 explained, “We are really looking forward to restarting our vacation and flight program from July 1, 2021.

“Our Jersey program will restart on June 24, 2021.

“We take the time to prepare everything at our airports, on board our planes and at our resorts to give you the safest and most seamless vacation experience possible.”

While the airline is hoping the current rollout of the vaccination will lead to “more positive news” for travel, it notes that some bookings may be subject to cancellations in the future under the “traffic lights system.” circulation “.

For vacationers with plans to travel to a Red List country, Jet2 says it will cancel the vacation and automatically issue a full refund.

For Amber and Green List countries departing no later than June 30, with the exception of Jersey holidays, Jet2 will automatically cancel reservations and provide a full refund “within 14 days”.

He adds: “We will be reviewing the status of Orange List destinations following the next UK government review which is expected to take place on or around June 24, 2021.

“We expect the government to revise the status of destinations on the green list around June 24, 2021. If your destination is then on the UK government’s green list, we look forward to taking you on vacation.”

Jet2 ensures that all customers affected by any change or cancellation will be contacted directly.

Last week, TUI announced a new round of vacation cancellations, citing “the lingering uncertainty”.

A range of travel plans have now been on hold until July 11.

Holidays in Zakynthos are canceled until June 28 inclusive. Holidays in Aruba, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece – Crete (Chania), Kavala, Kefalonia, Mykonos, Preveza, Samos, Santorini, Skiathos, Thessaloniki, Italy, Jamaica, Malta, Spain – Mainland Spain, Formentera, Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca, La Palma and all TUI Lakes & Mountains destinations are now canceled until July 4.

“All customers affected by these cancellations will be contacted directly and may request a full cash refund, or move to a later date or alternative vacation and receive a booking incentive,” TUI explained.

Ryanair has continued to operate flights throughout the pandemic and has gradually increased its service offering since May.

The airline recently announced no major cancellations following the June 21 pushback.

The Irish carrier has extended its free flight change policy for bookings made before September 30, 2021, for travel before December 31, 2021.
