AvAir and Lufthansa Technik double down on aftermarket agreement
This time the deal also includes as-retired and unserviceable units in addition to repairable and overhauled items. The agreement involves Lufthansa Technik receiving a share of the proceeds from resold components under a profit-sharing agreement. The material is considered surplus and the majority of the parts come directly from Lufthansa Technik’s material pool and aircraft teardowns. The sale contributes significantly to the optimization of stocks in the warehouses of Lufthansa Technik in Germanydelivery of the components will begin immediately to AvAir’s facilities at Ireland and Chandler, AZ in United States. Despite this major logistical effort for the Lufthansa Technik teams on both continents, the complete transfer of equipment should be completed within the next 90 days.
“The original agreement was signed in 2020, and it has proven to be a resounding success for both parties, and Lufthansa’s commitment to complementing the existing agreement is proof of that,” said Mike BlancoCEO of AvAir.
With this transaction, AvAir has added an even broader range of commercial and regional aircraft equipment to its inventory. Assets include Boeing 737, 737N, 747-400, 747-8, 777 Cargo, 787, Airbus A320, A330, A340, A350, A380, as well as all types of regional aircraft and miscellaneous equipment.
